• 5 MPH IN THE PITS, STRICTLY ENFORCED!
• No burnouts or reckless driving anywhere except on track.
• Pit area must be kept clean of all loose trash during the event and all trash should be picked up at the end of the event.
• All used tires must be taken with you at the end of the event.
• If you spill any automotive fluids, you must clean it up immediately. Notify Management or Track Staff of any spills.
• DO NOT dispose of any motor oil, antifreeze, and gear oil in the trash cans.
• No loud engines or noises during quiet time. Details will be listed with each events information packet.

• DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE PROHIBITED ON TRACK!
• When on track, drivers must remain in their vehicle at all times. Do not exit your vehicle unless it is on fire and take caution of other vehicles that may be on the track
• Driver and passenger must keep all body parts inside the vehicle at all times.

• Yellow Flag –Used at all times, this means slow down and stop drifting immediately. Once the issue is cleared and the flag is down, you can begin drifting again.
• Red Flag – Used at all times, this means to stop drifting and come to a complete stop in a quick and safe manner. While a Red Flag is raised, stay in your vehicle and do not move.
• Black Flag – Used at all times, indicates an issue with your driving or your vehicle. Please safely remove yourself from the track and speak to a track official about the issue before returning to the track.

• Incident on track but no flag – Driver must use common sense to assess the situation. During sessions, if a vehicle spins, gets stuck or has a mechanical issue in front of you, you must stop drifting and drive around the vehicle. Drifting around a stopped vehicle is unsafe and prohibited.

• All official media must be pre-approved and registered prior to the event.
• Only pre-approved and registered media will have access to restricted media locations on and around the track.
• All pre-approved and registered media must attend the mandatory media meeting.
• All pre-approved and registered media must wear a shirt, long pants, closed toed shoes and High-Vis Vest when in restricted media locations on and around the track.

• DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE PROHIBITTED ON TRACK!
• When on track, drivers must remain in their vehicle at all times. Do not exit your vehicle unless it is on fire and take caution of other vehicles that may be on the track.
• Drivers and passengers must keep all body parts inside the vehicle at all times.
• Driver Groups
  • Groups B & C are the same. They are only divided to ease grid traffic and aid in organization. These groups are for beginners with limited skills on a racetrack. 
    • Solo runs only, no tandems
    • Passengers are not allowed.

Group A is the advanced group. These drivers have demonstrated that they can link the course consistently and are prepared to drive with other drivers on track. To be bumped-up to group A please speak to a grid worker or Southampton Motor Speedway staff member.

• Tandems are approved.
• Handbrake Required

• Drivers

• Drivers must be 16 or older and possess a valid driver's license. If under 18, parent or legal guardian must be present and sign waiver.
• All drivers must sign the appropriate liability waiver and obtain the appropriate wrist band.
• DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE PROHIBITTED!
• Driver’s meeting is MANDATORY! If you do not attend the driver’s meeting, you will not be allowed on track.
• Drivers may not conduct standing burnouts anywhere in the facility, including on track!
• Overnight camping is permitted for Drivers and Crew during multi-day events. Details will be listed with each event’s information packet.
• Driver must pay very close attention to all flaggers and course workers. If any of their instructions are ignored, the driver will be, at a minimum, kicked off track for the session. If the offense is repeated or unsafe, the driver could be ejected from the event.
• Safety Equipment
  • All drivers are required to wear long pants, closed toe shoes and sleeved shirts.
  • Fire rated gloves and shoes are recommended.
  • Fire Suit is recommended.
  • Helmets are required at all times while on track.
    • MUST BE SA2015 or SA2020 RATED! NO EXCEPTIONS!
    • Helmet must be in good condition and show no signs of damage.
    • Chin strap must be present and always fastened when wearing. 
    • Annual Helmet Approval stickers are provided at the first tech inspection of the season and are good for the entire season unless the helmet is damaged.

• Passengers
  
  

• • All passengers must sign the appropriate liability waiver and obtain the appropriate wrist band.All passenger safety equipment must meet the same requirements as the driver.

• • Passenger behavior is the responsibility of the driver. 

• • Passengers must keep all body parts inside the vehicle at all times.

• Vehicle Technical Inspection
  
  
  • General
    • All vehicles must pass tech inspection prior to going on track.
    • Vehicle tech inspection may include inspection of brakes, suspension, engine, drivetrain and chassis for proper operation, condition and potential issues.
    • Cars must have front and rear crash bars. Factory or Aftermarket is acceptable.
    • All loose items must be removed from the vehicle including trash, tools, parts etc.
    • Fire Extinguisher
      • Required for all vehicles while on track.
      • Must be securely mounted within reach of the driver while seated with harness on.
      • Should NOT be mounted on the driver’s side floor.
      • Minimum 2lb of extinguishing agent required. 
      • Extinguisher must have a gauge and be checked before each event.
    • Roll Cage
      • Some layouts may require a role cage to tandem. Details will be listed with each event’s information packet.
      • If you have questions, contact Southampton Motor Speedway before the event.
    • Convertibles 
      • Must have a roll bar or properly secured hardtop to drive.
      • Style Bars WILL NOT PASS a vehicle tech inspection. 
      • If you have questions, contact Southampton Motor Speedway before the event.
    • Drift Trucks
      • All drift trucks MUST contact Southampton Motor Speedway for approval prior to showing up at the gate. 
      • Trucks should be lowered with proper drift suspension, manual transmission, and proper LSD/Welded rear. 
      • NO lifted trucks. 
      • NO toolboxes or loose items in the bed

• Vehicle Tech Guidelines
  
  

• These are only guidelines for a Vehicle Tech Inspection and are by no means a complete check list. It is the Drivers responsibility to thoroughly inspect their vehicle before every event.
  
  
• Engine/Drivetrain
  • No fluids should be leaking or dripping from the vehicle. If signs of a leak are evident you will need to show proof of a repair during tech
  • Heat shield is required around the brake and clutch master cylinders for any vehicles with the exhaust side of the engine on the same side as the driver. OE heat shield is acceptable.
  • Coolant overflow required on all vehicles. 
  • Oil overflow required on vehicles which have removed or modified OE oil recovery system.
  • Firewall between engine and passenger compartment must be completely sealed.
  • Throttle must be smooth in operation and exhibit no binding.
  • Gas cap must be present and completely sealed. Firewall required for all fuel system components inside the driver's compartment.
  • Any coolant, fuel or oil lines passing through the vehicle must be protected from contact by the driver or passenger. All unions and connections must be leak free and shielded from spraying the driver or passenger in the event of a leak. A firewall around all lines and connections is recommended.
  • Exhaust must be present, and a muffler is required for all naturally aspirated vehicles.
    
    
• Chassis
  • All suspension components including ball joints, bushings, springs, coil-overs, wheel bearings, arms, axles, etc. must be in good working condition and have no excessive play or clunking.
  • Steering must be smooth in operation and exhibit no binding.
  • All lug nuts must be present and properly torqued and have proper thread engagement. If using bolt on spacers, all lug nuts attaching the spacer to the hub must be present.
  • Body panels including fenders, hood, doors and hatch/trunk are required.
  • Tow hooks/straps are required front and rear.
    • Should be easily found.
    • Easily accessible
  • Hood and trunk must be securely latched either using the OE latch or aftermarket pins or latches.
  • Windshield, rear window and fixed side windows must be present and free of large cracks or imperfections. Door windows must be operational if installed. 
  • All vehicles must have a working e-brake. Can be OE cable type or aftermarket hydraulic.
    
    
• Electrical
  • Battery 
    • Must be securely tied down with permanently mounted plastic or metal strap and proper hardware. 
    • Tie-down must be in good condition.
    • No rubber tie downs, bungee cord, zip ties, etc. 
    • The positive terminal of the battery must be insulated.
    • If located inside the driver's compartment it must be sealed and non-venting
    • Non-sealed batteries are allowed in driver's compartment if in a fully sealed box, properly mounted and vented outside the vehicle
  • Brake lights must be operational.
  • Hazard lights 
    • Front and rear must be operational. 
    • Hazard switch must be located in cabin and within reach of driver while seated with harness on
  • Headlights are required for night driving.
  • Kill Switch or Shutoff switch must be in place.
    • OE key switches or aftermarket kill switch assemblies are acceptable.
    • It must be permanently mounted within reach of driver while seated with harness on
  • All wiring should be protected, insulated and properly mounted.
    
    
• Interior
  • Seats, seat belts and harnesses must be properly mounted. 
  • Harnesses must be FIA or SFI rated with current certification dates.
  • If the vehicle does not have a roll cage, a harness bar can be used to mount the shoulder belts when using a 4, 5 or 6-point harness.
  • If stock seats or non-FIA approved reclinable bucket seats are used, stock seat belt must be used.
  • If race seats are intended to be used with stock seat belt, the lap belt part of the seat belt must pass through the holes in the side of the race seat.
  • Interior should be free of all loose debris, tools, trash, etc.
